Scheduling Your Lessons
- Lessons must be scheduled at least 2 business days in advance
- Contingent upon teacher availability, you may take more than one lesson per week, as long as the lessons are scheduled at least 48 hours in advance
- Cancellations must be made at least 24 hours in advance or the missed lesson will be counted
- Depending on availability and scheduling, you may not always have the same teacher
- If you decide to enroll in ongoing lessons before your lesson package has been used up, the tuition for any unused lessons will be applied as a credit to your account
- If you decide to enroll in ongoing lessons after your lessons are used up, we will waive the $40 membership fee

If after one lesson you do not want to continue for any reason, let us know within one week and we will refund the entire lesson package. That is a 100% risk free lesson pack! Lesson Package FAQs
I’m a total beginner. Is a lesson package right for me?
Yes! Our teachers will help you get started with everything you need.
I’m interested in learning X instrument but don’t have one yet. Do I need an instrument?
Ideally, yes. But if you need assistance choosing the right first instrument, we are here to help! Not sure which size guitar, or what type to buy? Need help choosing the right keyboard? We got you! For parents of kids that are interested in drums- lessons are possible without a drum kit, and our drum teachers are well versed in teaching rhythm, especially if you're on the fence about buying a drum kit!
What other materials do I need?
Besides your instrument, just an internet connection and a device to connect with. Your lessons will be hosted through Zoom.
I’ve taken X years of lessons before. What level(s) do you offer?
Our team of professional teachers handle all levels of instruction, from beginner to advanced. Your teacher will meet you where you are, and work with you to achieve your musical goals.
How long do I have to use the lessons?
You must use your lessons before June 30, 2022.
Can I schedule them all at once?
Yes! We are happy to schedule all of your lessons at once. Please note, depending on availability and scheduling, you may not always have the same teacher.
Can I take more than one lesson per week?
Contingent upon teacher availability, you may take more than one lesson per week, as long as the lessons are scheduled at least 48 hours in advance.
What if I need to reschedule a lesson?
No problem, as long as you give 24 hours notice. Please let us know as soon as possible. Cancellations must be made at least 24 hours in advance or the missed lesson will be counted.
Can I split up the lesson package between multiple people?
Absolutely. Our team is happy to schedule this for you.
Can I try out different instruments?
Totally! Feel free to mix and match, and try out different instruments and teachers.
Can I try out different teachers? Can I stick with the same teacher for all of my lessons?
You are more than welcome to try out different teachers with your Lesson Package. We will try our best to accommodate requests for all lessons with the same teacher, depending on availability and scheduling, it may not always be possible to have the same teacher.
My child is auditioning for an arts high school. Does your program help support audition prep?
Yes! You may use your lesson package to focus on getting ready for an arts high school audition. Our teachers will help your child prepare their song choices as well as prepare for the melody/rhythm recall portion of the audition.
About Brooklyn Music Factory
Brooklyn Music Factory has been inspiring musicians and building community in Brooklyn for more than 10 years. Co-founders Nate Shaw and Peira Moinester came together with a vision for a different type of music lesson, one that was FUN, INSPIRING and game-based. They imagined a program where kids could collaborate regularly, play together in bands, and learn to think for themselves as musicians.
From Nate's basement studio in Brooklyn, to a two-room music school, to a 12-studio facility with 600 summer campers each year, and now—with lessons available nationwide—BMF's community of music makers continues to grow. And a team of incredible teachers has joined us along the way.
