At Brooklyn Music Factory, we’re all about making music learning joyful, collaborative, and easy to access. That’s why we created BMFConnect — your family’s online hub for everything happening in your child’s musical world.
If you’ve logged in and wondered, “Where do I start?” — this guide is for you.
Your Dashboard: The Home Base
When you log into BMFConnect, you’ll see your student’s classes and resources organized in one place. Everything is designed to make it simple for families to:
- Stay updated on what’s happening in class
- Support practice at home
- Access fun, engaging musical content
Let’s walk through some of the key features.
📅 The Calendar: Stay in the Loop
On the Dashboard, The BMFConnect calendar keeps you informed about:
- Gigs/performances
- Special events like Magic Hour & Date Night
- School holidays when classes are cancelled
- Schools Out Holiday Camps
Instead of digging through emails, you can quickly check the calendar to see what’s coming up. It’s a great way to stay organized and make sure you never miss an important music moment.
🎲 Big Music Games: Learning Through Play
One of the most exciting parts of BMFConnect is access to our Big Music Games.
These interactive games help students:
- Practice musical concepts
- Reinforce what they’re learning in class
- Have fun while doing it
They’re perfect for short bursts of practice at home — especially on days when your child needs something playful and engaging to get started.
📺 BMFTV: Practice Support On Demand
BMFTV is your on-demand video library.
Here, families can find:
- Play-along videos
- Warm-Ups
- Games
- Introductions to new instruments
📝 Weekly Lesson Reports
After each class, teachers post a lesson summary so you can see:
- What your child worked on
- Skills they’re developing
- Songs they’re learning
- What to practice before next week
These reports make practice focused and purposeful — even if you’re not a musician yourself. Teachers will attach important resources like lyrics, chord charts, Big Music Games, and jam tracks so always check the reports page after class!
The Reports page will also link to your class Google Drive. Here, you can see videos and pictures from class, as well as songs your child is writing.
How to Use BMFConnect at Home
We recommend a simple routine:
- Log into BMFConnect a few times a week
- Check the weekly lesson report.
- Look at the calendar for upcoming events.
- Play a Big Music Game or watch a video on BMFTV for reinforcement.
- Celebrate progress!
Even 10–15 minutes a few times a week makes a huge difference.
