Little Songwriters Music Class for Babies & Toddlers
Early exposure to music can have a profound impact on a child’s development. The Little Songwriters Music Class is designed specifically for babies and toddlers to explore rhythm, melody, and movement in a playful and nurturing environment.
These classes create opportunities for children to engage with music while supporting early cognitive, social, and emotional growth.
(A.K.A. Singing and Pooping)
Proudly, by Peira Moinester

I’ve known Nate Shaw (my business partner here at BMF) for most of my adult life. Well, if you consider my playing music with babies and toddlers “adulting.” His girls were in my toddler music class way back when I first started teaching right out of college, and now one of them is in college herself. I know. I’m about to do that “can you believe how time passes” thing. But seriously, can you believe how time passes? I digress.

Why babies are the most uninhibited musicians
Truth is, I love working with those little ones. They are the freest version of musician that exists, the kind we are all trying to tap into as adults. Babies and toddlers live in a world where music is entirely about exploration and self-expression. And while, yeah, that lack of inhibition also translates to them publicly pooping their pants, it’s an awesome thing when it comes to music. Singing and pooping: new slogan?
Bringing it full circle
Anyway, I’m super psyched to bring this thing full circle by bringing back music classes for babies and toddlers, but this time with the BMF twist: songwriting with and for our little ones. Songs are an incredible way to help people who are so new to the world get through the day. Little Songwriters has developed a curriculum where kids not only get to sing, play, and dance, but also create songs with their grownups that are relevant to their lives.
You bring the baby, we’ll bring the fun.
Ultimately, It feels great not only to return to my own beginnings with Nate, but also to open the BMF doors to a community that we haven’t had the opportunity to make music with until now. Please join us. All you need to bring is the baby (and the poop). We’ll bring the fun.

Stimulating Early Brain Development
Music engages multiple areas of the brain simultaneously, promoting early learning and development. Participating in musical activities helps young children develop:
-
Listening and attention skills
-
Memory and pattern recognition
-
Language and communication foundations
By interacting with rhythm, melody, and sound, babies and toddlers strengthen neural connections that support future learning.
Encouraging Movement and Motor Skills
Music classes for little ones incorporate movement, dancing, and instrument exploration, which help develop fine and gross motor skills.
Benefits include:
-
Improving hand-eye coordination
-
Strengthening large and small muscles
-
Enhancing rhythm and timing
These activities create a strong foundation for physical development in addition to musical growth.
Fostering Creativity and Expression
Even at a very young age, children have a natural inclination for creativity. Little Songwriters classes encourage babies and toddlers to express themselves through singing, clapping, and playing simple instruments.
This early creative engagement helps children:
-
Build confidence in self-expression
-
Explore imagination and experimentation
-
Connect emotions to musical experiences
Encouraging creativity from an early age nurtures lifelong curiosity and problem-solving skills.
Supporting Social and Emotional Growth
Music classes provide a structured yet playful environment for children to interact with peers. Even brief interactions help toddlers learn basic social skills such as turn-taking, listening, and sharing.
Additionally, music can be a safe outlet for emotional expression, helping children:
-
Develop empathy and understanding
-
Gain confidence in group settings
-
Experience joy and emotional regulation through play
Building a Lifelong Love of Music
By introducing children to music early, Little Songwriters classes help cultivate a love for music that can last a lifetime. Early experiences with rhythm, melody, and song lay the foundation for future musical learning and enjoyment.
Parents also benefit by sharing musical moments with their children, creating meaningful bonding experiences.
