A More Musical Home
We believe that music can and should be a communal activity in the home. When playing music is a group activity for the whole family, the rest comes a whole lot more easily. That’s why setting up a fun and welcoming play space is so important.
Here is a great list of what you need to start building an AWESOME musical play space in your home. Your entire family will be playing music together in no time! It all starts with… the percussion basket.
Percussion Basket
What percussion basket you ask? This is your go-to jamming grab-bag. Everyone in the family, regardless of age or experience level, will love joining in the jam with any one of these instruments!
Djembe
This is the CORE of your percussion basket! The djembe has a wide range of tones, depending on how you hit it. This thing can hold its own in any jam. Check it out.
Egg Shaker
The description may say “kids toy” but we can guarantee that every last one of you will be SHAKIN IT. Check it out.
Tambourine
You gotta have a tambourine. This is a solid model – we find this style of tambourine easier to hold and play than the traditional round ones. Check it out.
Glockenspiel

Melodica
This beauty is the closest thing to a portable piano. We use it all the time for ear training games @ BMF and I’ve played my fair share of reggae gigs on it. It also happens to be huge in Brazil (for whatever that’s worth to ya). Check it out.

- For a digital tuner, we’re big fan of Snark. It easily clips onto your ukulele or guitar for clear & quick tuning.
